Dizzy.
That's how it felt. Like just another battle that left him collapsed, a dark doll against the stone. After being so close he couldn't be sure at first if it hadn't all been a dream. A nightmare where he fell asleep just to wake up dead.
It seemed like he'd followed a light here. That was the funny thing about light, it could be a guide. Darkness was just a force, encroaching on all sides. Following the darkness meant groping blind, finding the right shadows through instinct or luck. It was scarier to the meek and thrilling to the strong.
Did following the light make him weak, then? Vanitas chose to think not. Half-dead, maybe. More delusional than usual. He mistook the crumbling stone ceiling above for the sky and wondered what black world he'd landed on, but once he put the architecture together in his head he sat up with a slow inhale that wanted to be a groan. He'd rather flip up straight to his feet, or leap up in a springy, weightless motion, but there was no enemy here to demoralize. That last encounter with his lesser half had been more traumatizing than he'd like to admit, but after a stagger he stood straight and breathed against searing ribs that felt cracked.
Because Vanitas himself existed, he knew Ventus was around again as well. He knew that he shouldn't exist, that his body had been destroyed, but since he did he saw no reason to question it. Maybe he was here simply through the strength of his own will, and couldn't be killed as long as Ventus was alive--like the Unversed born of his own negativity.
The thought of immortality--born of the same individual who tried so hard to kill him--made him chuckle faintly in spite of the battle-weary body that had cracked and splintered, and from there it was a lost cause. His voice rose in a psychotic laugh, and he spread his arms as if in awe of the world's determination to destroy itself. All for him.
The dark folds at his palms creaked in protest when he crushed them into fists.
Ventus would be his.

Ventus leaned agaist the wall, barely concious, the last battle with Vanitas weared him out badly. Suddenly he heard his laughter, Vanita's laughter, "I thought I destroyed him!" He said wearily, and stood up letting out a groan, he really shouldn't be moving so quickly. He ran towards the laughter, his body aching to rest. "Vanitas!" He yelled out his voice loud ad clear and he stayed 10 feet away from him. He glared at him, knowing they were both too weak to even last another battle, Ven could barely stand up straight."What are you still doing here?" He asked coldly his voice seemed like a sharp arrow, ready to be shot. But Ven had to be careful also, who knows how fast Vanitas can heal, or how much pain he could take. Ven began to 'deep think' Aslong as I'm alive..then Vanitas will be alive..too?' he asked himsel, but deep down Ven knew it was true. His world began spinning his eyes trying to follow his world. Too much dizzyness and he had fallen down and landed on the hard ground landing on his bum. He tried to steady his eyes on Vanitas but something just wasn't right.

No sooner had Vanitas come to that realization than it proved itself from directly behind him. He turned in a quick, sharp motion--not keen on getting caught unawares right now--but he relaxed when he saw his other half.
Ventus looked ruined. Broken. He couldn't even stay on his feet, and Vanitas had to marvel at the dumb luck that caused this helpless boy to beat him. Time and time again Ventus proved that he wasn't up to snuff, and yet he came through when things got desperate. Maybe the light was a sore loser.
Vanitas wasn't by any means. He'd tasted power, embraced the purity of the X-blade, and he'd had that taken from him. Ventus would suffer for that, but Vanitas didn't wish death on him.
Still, the tendrils of his anger curled tight and cold around the entire room, and just beyond his own will Vanitas could feel the Unversed stirring. "I could ask you the same thing, Ventus," he said shortly. "What did you bother to come back for? Did you really think I'd give up just like that?"
Vanitas probably couldn't afford to take chances, and reaching into the darkness for Void Gear probably counted. He did it anyway, sure that this was about to be a combat situation, but the flashes of shadow only brushed weightlessly against his fingers and his Keyblade did not respond. Vanitas waved the darkness away unconcernedly. Interesting. In destroying the X-blade, had Ventus destroyed both of their weapons?

Wow was all he could think of at Vanita's questions and he stood up, not as dizzy but he didn't care. "I don't know, but you're gonna have to give up soon."He saidas he flicked his wrist to summon the keyblade, but it only apeared for a few seconds, then disapeared again. 'What?" He said and looked at his hand in surprise, "Did I cause this..?" He whispered and then looked up again, If only I hadn't fought hims then I might still have my keyblade.. he blamed himself for a little bit and then looked up, "I guess we both lost our keyblades." He said looking at Vanitas, Ven's darkness from his heart tured into a living creature. His darkness tooken by Master Xehanort while Ven was unconcious in the Keyblade Graveyard.

Vanitas's laugh was subdued that time, a dark little chuckle. "Well, well, well. What've you done now, Ventus?" He advanced in a slow but steady stride, feeling broken bones turn to rocks in his insides with every step. If he didn't know better he'd think they were already healing. Just knowing he was alive seemed to be enough--knowing Ventus was alive--knowing everything he set out to achieve was still possible. "Will you ever stop screwing things up? Terra...Aqua... Eraqus." He stopped just out of striking distance, as if out of habit. "You've already failed every person you ever cared about."Malice. Vanitas could smell the Floods just waiting to burst forth, like watery razors zipping into predatory stances. "You ran away from your friends and master just to play right into my hands. Like candy from a baby. And now you're here, and you've lost the only thing that made you worthwhile in the first place. Your Keyblade."Enmity. The Mandrake's screech hit his ears in a ghost noise, promising poisoned agony. "What would Master Eraqus think? Or did Terra tell you." Beneath the darkness, lips that mirrored Ventus's pulled back in a smirk. "Eraqus is dead because of you."Loathing. From deep within his chest, like an alien heartbeat, Vanitas felt the searing rage of the Iron Imprisoner. "Wouldn't it be better if you just disappeared?" Negativity made a halo around him now. Even if he lacked Void Gear in turn, Vanitas was not unarmed. "It's not too late, Ventus. You can erase this. All of this. Like it never happened."He held out a hand, palm up in offering, and yellow eyes gleamed in the darkness. "Join with me."[/i]

OOC: I noticed that my words are kind of hard to see so a bit of a code change should suffice xD
Ven had anger written on his face, "I've done nothing but do what my heart thought was right!" If Ven had his keyblade, if they both had their keyblades right now then they would be mid battle right now, Terra...Aqua...Eraqus His eyes widened, as he began to think, "I-I didn't screw up anything! And I hadn't failed.. keyblades aren't the most important to me... " Terra, and Aqua was the most important things in the world to Venand he didn't destroy them, Ven could never! Eraqus is dead because of you Terra fought Eraqus to save Ven, Eraqus was going to destroy him and the two boys were like brothers "That's not my fault.." He said in a low whisper, the things vanitas said spinning around in his head.
Wouldn't it be better if you just disappeared? No, it wouldn't because that would stop Ven from seeing anybody he ever cared about ever again. And he knew Terra and Aqua wouldn't be very happy about if they had known his decision to disapear. [/color] "Erase.. it all?" he said and without knowing he lifted his hand to take Vanita's offer, then he noticed it reaching out and jerked it back and placed it on his chest. "No deal Vanitas. I will never join the darkness." He said turning down Vanita's offer, Ven could never fit in the darkness..
