Finally, the Flurry had found an inn to stay in...he had been wandering since he had come on this strange world, not sure of why he was there. "The Ruby Wine...sounds fancy." He walked in the doorway and found the innkeeper. Reaching in his pocket, he said, "Hiya. I'd like to get a room for a week, if that's not too much trouble." He had seen the price on a board as he had walked in, and placed 14 gold down that he had...borrowed from houses he had passed. The sacrafice of many was nescicary to ensure one's safety, right?
He took the key that the man handed him, looked at the number, and went to the matching room, which was upstairs. Putting the key in the lock, he turned the key and opened the door, immediately going to his bed and laying down. "Ahh, this is nice..." he sighed, starting a fire in the fireplace with a snap. He just laid there for a while, then got up and headed downstairs, sitting at the bar. He motioned at the bartender, who gave him a goblet of wine. He sipped it, feeling the alcohol warm him up inside, and relaxed, glad he had found a safe place in La Terre.

[atrb=border,0,true][bg=97786b][atrb=width,461,true] ☂ ONE DAY YOU'LL BE OVER HERE SOMEONE WILL COME WITHOUT A CREED AND WITH NOTHING TO GAIN She'd been in La Terre long enough to know what the place was called-- La Terre-- and that was more than some of the people crashing from the sky understood. Of course, the blonde young woman could attribute her wealth of knowledge to the fact that she'd landed in the new world quite a while before the people appearing now. In fact, Rikku found herself wandering La Terre for so long that she'd decided to discard any ideas of finding a way to leave and begged for a job at the nearest place that appeared interesting.
The Ruby Wine satiated both urges quite well, she decided upon the second day of employment. It seemed an appropriate establishment for a newcomer to the world to settle herself-- at some point she'd accepted that La Terre was not Spira nor anywhere near it-- for the first place the homeless would look would be a surrogate home until questions could be answered. Hauling a bag of trash over her shoulder, Rikku gave it a shift or two for balance before taking it outside with the rest of crap people left lying around. It was gross. Just gross. Her face screwed into expression of disgust before she shifted the bag with the rest and wiped her hands off on the back of her skirt.
"Well, that's it for today," she said, proud of getting her work done.
"What are ya talkin' 'bout? All you've done all day is take one bag of trash out!" came a call from the window, "You still got the rest of the day to go."
"Awh, c'mon. Gimme a break today! I'm tired!"
No response beyond a frown and a sigh, and Rikku took it for what it was: her boss giving into her whining again-- in record time, no less. Clapping her hands in thanks, the blonde pulled the apron up over her head and slung it precariously over her arm. The only proper thing to do on her day off was to eat. Eat and drink, drink and eat. It wasn't as if she could go out and bother Yunie or Paine-- The thought put a kink in her step. She wondered how her friends were doing, how her family was doing. Were Wakka and Lulu alright? Had Yunie and Brother fallen into the same world as she? What was she doing just sitting around waiting for them to come to her? Wasn't she the proactive person of the bunch?
Exactly! Steeling herself to the idea of a long, dangerous, dirty journey-- it was a rather gross prospect-- Rikku stomped back into the Ruby Wine and to the bar to demand the bartender stuff her until she could roll out. There was no guarantee she'd find civilizations on the outskirts-- It could be as bare as a majority of Bikanel Island.
"Hey! I'm hungry! What's there to eat in this rundown place?" she called with a wink before noting a rather bright head of hair in her general vicinity. Curious, Rikku crouched slightly down and slinked toward the stranger, hands pulled to her chest. "You weren't here yesterday, were you?" |

As the Flurry heard someone speak to him, he gathered his wits and said the wittiest thing that came to his mind.
"Huh?"
He turned and looked at the girl who had talked to him, staring. "Nah, I got here about an hour ago." he said, putting down his goblet. His third one, actually, yet it didn't affect him. Sometimes there were advantages of being a Nobody. "The name's Axel. Get it memorized." He then put down a coin for the wine and stood, stretching. "So, you gotta name?" he asked. Even though his tone was sarcastic, his eyes carried kindness, which as of late he could feel. He smiled and looked, awaiting a response.

[atrb=border,0,true][bg=97786b][atrb=width,461,true] ☂ ONE DAY YOU'LL BE OVER HERE SOMEONE WILL COME WITHOUT A CREED AND WITH NOTHING TO GAIN "Huh?" said the red haired figure as he turned to glance in her direction.
Oh, he's not a bright one, she thought as Rikku gave a cursory glance to his features, noticing the two marks just below his very, very green eyes. If she were to guess, he was probably in his mid-twenties or something like that. Very pretty. Almost better than Yunie's Tidus if she were going to be completely honest, and when it came to boys, she really, really was. Leaning a little closer to check out what the man was drinking, the young woman absently listened to the answer of her question, and without really thinking it through, she posed a question of her own.
"Oh yeah? You were pulled out your world too?" the blonde asked, clearly not considering the idea that perhaps the red haired man had been referring to getting into town rather than appearing in the world in a rather dramatic fashion such as herself. Ah well. Jumping to conclusions when the idea struck her was a character attribute Rikku'd find hard to shake. As long as it didn't look life threatening or filled with snakes, she was fully willing to leap without looking. A smile creased her lips at the introduction and question, and as Axel stood, she stuck out a hand. "I'm Rikku.
"Hey, you haven't seen a grumpy silver-haired girl? Or a super nice girl with two different colored eyes? Or..." |
she paused and then decided that not finding Brother might be a decent thing for now, "Never mind. Just those two."[/div]

Axel smiled and took the girl's hand, shaking it. "Rikku, huh..." his thoughts trailed off as he thought of Sora's companion. Not that this girl and Riku had anything in common, but the name brought up memories. He was pulled back to reality by the girl asking another question. "A silver-haired girl and one with two colored eyes..." He thought about that one for a second, then said, "No, sorry. Are they friends of yours? Maybe I could help you find them." He smiled and ran a hand through his hair. "Honestly, I've been on this world about 5 days. I could use a hand around, and maybe help you find your friends..." He trailed off, thinking. If people were randomly appearing, then maybe... "Um, have you happened to see a boy with messy blonde hair wearing a robe like mine or a checkered shirt? Possibly holding something like a big key?" His eyes showed his eagerness at an answer, hoping that maybe, just maybe, Roxas would show up.

Vanitas was not a heavy drinker.
Ventus was just about to make him that way, though. After fighting that long and that hard just to end up back where he started, Vanitas could use direction. He could use another mind just as quick as his to piece this picture together in a different way, like shattered stained glass.
And outright destroying Ventus stopped being an option a long time ago.
So he needed to frequent the places that such minds would frequent. Find the things that would interest those minds. And as well as he knew Master Xehanort, the old man could be trusted to show up in unusual places. Either barren wastelands or cities frothing with people, wherever something drew his attention. Vanitas decided to put his money on people and that's what drew him to the inn. He wasn't interested in a room, though--he wandered to the bar, instead. And any dissent was met with the cold black stare of his mask.
Nothing immediately caught his eye. There was a mishmash of people, not all dregs of society but certainly not all upper class, and from one crazy outfit to the next it became obvious to Vanitas that this world was a conglomeration. People here broke the rules, mixed boundaries, shattered expectations.
He dug it.
And he let the drone of conversation lull him into subconsciousness, taking a seat and going back over everything in his mind. The key to all of this was Ventus's friends, but both of them were gone now. Vanitas made sure of that. So if he fought despite having nothing left to lose, then--
"...messy blond hair..."
--overcoming him...would...
"...checkered shirt?"
Vanitas turned around.
"Possibly holding something like a big key?"
There. The skinny tall one in black. He was talking to some girl that didn't matter at all and Vanitas hated him instantly. He oozed treachery.
Someone like that had to be put in his place.
A simple request would result in evasion. Violence would be met with violence. Vanitas compensated and drew his weapon as he approached the two, darkness congealing into Void Gear in his palm. It was still light against his fingers, but after hours of calling and calling it was nice to have it responding again.
"Like this one?" he asked with deceptive calmness, holding it straight up so the slimeball got a good look at the thing that was about to ruin his day.
