History: Tidus hails from the Dream Zanarkand created by the Fayth of Bahamut. He lived a peaceful life until Sin pulled him out of it and into the true Spira. He wandered the land, being captured by a group that called themselves the Al Bhed. He stayed with them for a while (not willingly), but managed to escape when Sin attacked the ship. He washed up on Besaid Island and was found by Wakka. Wakka showed him to the village, where he met Lulu and Yuna and learned of the pains Spira felt--and of the Aeons. He helped Yuna and her guardians navigate Spira, meeting Kimahri, Yuna's Ronso guardian, and Rikku, one of teh Al Bhed on the ship that Tidus was held on and Yuna's cousin. Over their travels of Spira, Yuna and Tidus fell in love. But Yuna was loved by another man, named Seymour, who wanted to control Sin to "save" Spira. Despite his many attempts to kidnap Yuna (and once trying to force her to marry him, he was foiled every time.
Eventually Tidus and the group reached Zanarkand, where they faced Yunalesca and defeated her. They then attack Sin, where Tidus finds his father, Jecht. The group manages to take down Sin once and for all, but Tidus starts to fade away. Bahamut's Fayth had contacted them again, telling him he was just a dream and was destined to fade away. As he did so, he told Yuna that they would meet again, and vanished.
But now, somehow, he had returned, but not to Zanarkand, or even Spira. He learned by word of mouth that it was named La Terre, and decided to stay in this strange land until he learned why he was there.
