♥I Ain't Gonna Live Forever♥[/size]
History:
Fang can't really remember much of her childhood. It was a long time ago, back when things were simple. She couldn't recall much of her parents only that they were kind figures that watched over her and looked after her. While she was still very young, the war of Tragession between Pulse and Cocoon had already started. Before she knew it, her entire family was wiped out by Cocoon's l'Cie and fal'Cie. She couldn't believe it when everything she loved was taken away from her, as she watched her peaceful home deteriorate. She was soon sent to the orphanage, where she learnt that not all hope was lost.
It was there she met a young girl named Vanille, who was only three years younger than herself. She was a happy young spirit, who still managed to smile despite what had happened to her. It was soon after that they became close friends, with Fang watching over her, much like an older sister. It was good to know that she wasn't alone anymore and was determined not to let her friend down. During the time that past, Fang couldn't help but feel anger towards her home's fal'Cie Amina for failing to protect Gran Pulse. She felt like she had to do something to protect her home and her closest friend, even if it meant risking her life in the process.
She wasn't sure why she was doing what she doing; it was pretty reckless to become an l'Cie. But she didn't care; she couldn't just sit around and watch as her home crumbled away along with her friend. Fang was surprised when Vanille had decided to tag along with her, becoming an l'Cie as well. They were both were told to become Ragnarok to destroy Cocoon. The power they were given was great, and her young friend was scared by it. Vanille was too frightened to become Ragnarok, so Fang decided to go ahead and destroy Cocoon herself. She needed to fulfil their focus as becoming a Cie'th was not an option. Unfortunately, Fang was not able to destroy Cocoon completely. She felt like all help was lost, until the divine Goddess had decided to step in. She felt sorry for the people of Cocoon and thus wanted to stop the war. She crystallized Fang and Vanille soon after and it was some time before they both awoke.
Five whole centuries later, Fang awoke from her slumber. But she was no longer in home anymore, but in another place. It turned out she had been brought there by Galenth Dysley, the leader of Cocoon. She had no idea on what had happened, as she lost all memory of what had happened with Ragnarok. She also had noticed her l'Cie brand on her right shoulder had been scorched. Initially, she was relieved but not for long. Checking her friend's mark, it was still active. She then became desperate to find out what their focus was, to stop Vanille becoming a cie'th.
She wandered around aimlessly around Cocoon searching for answers and soon ended up back the pulse vestige. It was there they found an innocent young girl who had been turned in l'Cie deep in the vestige. It was a sad sight, as for it seemed the fal'Cie were picking on people who were clearly innocent. They watched over the girl till she left for home, hoping she would be alright.
Time was ticking by fast as they still could not remember their focus. Convinced they didn't have long, they headed to Euride Gorge to visit its fal'Cie Kujata. Fang needed answers as she needed to protect Vanille from becoming a monster. Her friend was still scared to take on her focus but Fang repeatedly told her it's better that than becoming a cie'th. Fang's mind worked into overdrive as she thought of some ideas to kick start her memory. She had soon decided to attack the fal'Cie, acting like the enemies of Cocoon. She had hoped it would jog her memory but before she could anything, a little boy had appeared before them and was soon turned into an l'Cie. Fang and Vanille then fled, as PSICOM were now hot on their trail.
Despite her friend's pleading to forget their focus, she stayed determined. There was no way they were going to fail, become cie'th that just wasn't an option. She had told Vanille they had no choice as more innocent people would get turned into l'Cie for no reason. They couldn't quit, they wouldn't be able to escape Cocoon quietly that way. After being heavily pursed by PSICOM, Fang told Vanille to flee. She told her that she would come and find her as soon as she could. It was heartbreaking to see her friend so upset and frightened but it was the only way.
After returning to Bodhum, Fang was captured by the cavalry. Soon after she boarded the Lindblum, she met sanctum official Cid Raines who had told her that the cavalry was not linked to PSICOM. It wasn't like she cared, as everyone from Cocoon was an enemy in her eyes. She was convinced that he wanted to gain more information about Gran Pulse from her but quickly told him there was no point in asking her, as she didn't have information for him. He understood, saying she could either choose to help him or not although he was force to stay. It was there she met someone else; Ridge who relieved it was the cavalry that helped her escape Euride. He made a deal to help search for Vanille as long as they didn't get caught. But still, he could not find her.
Fang started to get anxious for her friend's safety. It had been a couple of days since she last saw her and was hoping she hadn't been caught yet. She talked to Raines again, who had sealed off the ship to stop her escaping. There was no easy way she could get away and find Vanille before it was too late. She was brought into a room, blindfolded and played a message. It was about the fal'Cie Eden lifting the blockade off of Euride. She was then asked to wait another three days, to which she agreed to.
A few days later, she encountered Snow Villiers in Lake Bresha and bought him aboard. She soon learned from him about the other l'Cie and her friend Vanille. She decides to help him, as they go off in search. She helped him rescue his friends in Palumpolum and soon followed after Lightning. She told the ex-soldier all about her past and how they must have completed their focus to turn into crystal. She also mentioned that she could not recall her focus and was desperate to help find Vanille in time. It was there that she explained to Lightning all she knew about l'Cie turning into cie'th and how much time you would have left going by your brand.
Sometime later, Fang and the others meet up with Cid Raines, only to see Vanille and Sazh ready to be executed. Fang wouldn't let them get away without a fight, as they prepared to infiltrate the sanctum skyfleet to save them. It wasn't long before Fang was reunited with her friend Vanille who was more than happy to see her again. Fang quickly checked Vanille's brand to see how much time she had left before she would get turned into a cie'th. Luckily they still had some time to spare. They encountered Galenth Dysley, who was in fact a fal'Cie named Barthandelus. After they defeat him, he went on to say that one of them had to turn into Ragnarok to destroy Orphan.
It was a thought to think about as everyone was thinking about their focus. It wasn't what any of them wanted to do. Neither of them wanted to destroy Cocoon, which angered Fang. She didn't care what they said, it needed to be done. Watching a friend turn into a cie'th was the last thing on her mind as she was ready to fight them. But before she could do anything, her brand started to glow, summoning Bahamut, her eidolon.
After fighting it, they headed to Gran Pulse. Talking to Vanille, she revealed that she lied to her about knowing what had happened all those years ago. All her memories had left her and she felt guilty for lying to her best friend. Fang then realized that Vanille knew all along what their focus was and indeed every detail about her past. She was a little shocked but always felt something was off.
At Orphan's Cradle, Fang watched as her friend was bullied into become Ragnarok once more. Fang soon chose to take on the form Ragnarok, although she was no longer willing to destroy Cocoon with Orphan. She was only able to break into the shell before becoming human again. She was then tortured by Orphan as Vanille helplessly watched on. Sucking up her courage, Vanille decided to not run away anymore and take on Orphan. Soon, the others had rushed to them explaining that orphan had tricked them. They promptly saved Fang and apologized for leaving them. In the wake of Orphan' s destruction both Fang and Vanille stayed behind to become Ragnarok and save cocoon. Being by each other sides, they quickly destroyed then saved Cocoon and turned into crystal, thus finally completed their focus after five hundred years.
