Name: Terra Branford
Age: Eighteen
Which game are you from: FFVI
Weapons/Abilities:
»» WEAPON;; while able to successfully wield various kinds of daggers, swords, and maces-- albeit with various levels of skill-- she only carries around a rather plain dagger and her sword, *lightbringercrystal sword.
»» JACK OF ALL TRADES;; terra is a well-balanced fighter, being trained at a young age to fight for her empire. she's proficient in swordplay, hand-to-hand combat, wielding small blades like daggers and the like. she's also more than competent at magic due to her half-esper, half-human heritage. however, despite this, the fact that she doesn't specialise in one type of combat means that anyone more skilled than she at a certain type will beat her at that type, like a swordmaster at swords.
»» *TRANCE;; terra has the ability of turning into an esper for a limited amount of time. in this form, she deals twice as much damage as usual and the amount of magical damage she takes is cut in half.
»» SLAVE CROWN;; it is an object she wears upon her head that suppresses a wearer's will, making them a puppet to whomever places it upon their head. with the slave crown on, terra cannot wield her sword, the lightbringer, she can't access her esper form and nor does she display any semblance of a personality.
»» WEAKNESSES;; as stated above, terra's jack-of-all-trades aspect makes her weak when going against someone with a style that person's an expect of. the slave crown suppresses her will, so she won't flee from certain death unless expressly ordered she may.
Eidolons/ Summons: N/A
Alliance: The Dark ( for now )

History:
» Though born in the Land of Espers to her Esper father, Madiun, and her human mother, Madeline, Terra didn't stay there for long. An attack by the Gestahlian Empire two years after her birth on the land resulted in the Espers sealing up their world and her human mother driven from its borders. Madeline was murdered, her husband, who had followed, and her baby kidnapped. Terra was raised as a weapon of massive destruction, and, eventually, a Slave Crown was placed upon her head by Kefka Palazzo who used it to surpress her will and force her to obey his orders directly such as the annihilation of fifty of the Empire's finest soldiers.
Sixteen years after her capture, she found herself on a mission to retrieve a frozen Esper in the Narshe mines, but while she and her group were able to reach it, the power of it knocked her out. Rescued by a man named Arvis, Terra had her Slave Crown removed and herself healed only seconds before the local police attempted to capture her. With the help of Arvis again, she managed to escape to the mines. Her attempts to flee ultimately failed when she crashed through the floor of a tunnel, but eleven Moogles and a man named Locke Cole rescued her, the latter of whom took her to Figaro.
Kefka, not pleased at the idea of his weapon taken away followed suit, but with the help of new allies, Terra escaped and eventually met the leader of the Returners who asked her to join their cause. Pleased to be asked her opinion for once in her life and agreeing with their ideals, she agreed to do so. On the return to Narshe, she and her party were attacked, forcing the group to trek through the mines to avoid the police who were reluctant to have the Returners or Terra in their town. Shortly after their arrival, the Empire attacked in an attempt to gain the Esper, but Kefka's forces were defeated by Terra and the others. When Terra went to see the Esper in question, she herself turned into one and fled.
Terra found herself in a city, cared for by an Esper named Ramuh who told her that in order for her to recover-- especially from her amnesia-- she would have to find her father held prisoner by the Empire. When Locke gave her the Magicite shard that used to be her father, Terra found herself able to control her transformation. Now better, she found herself able to help the Returners stage an attack on the Empire, and moved to do her part by going to communicate plans in the Land of Espers. At the gate leading to the land, she was ambushed by Kefka but the Esper army came to her aid.
Using their attack as a means of distraction, Terra and her companions headed to the castle where they found the Emperor who supposedly surrendered. After being asked to convey a message to the Espers hiding at Crescent Island, Terra and Locke agreed to go and do so. More and more things happened. You can obviously tell I'm not good with knowing this history and am attempting to paraphrase the wikipedia. It probably sounds stilted and confusing, but as I'm not familiar with the detailed parts of the game, I'm at a loss of how to make it flow better. Anyway... Back to the history.
More things happened and Terra found herself within a village attacked by Kefka where all the adults died. Feeling a responsibility to the children, Terra remained to take care of them, refusing to fight as she attempted to decipher the emotion growing within her bosom. As she identified it as love, Terra found that it was okay to fight and that she needed to fight to keep the children of the town safe. Terra then sensed herself being called and left to help her friends finally defeat Kefka, and she used the last of her Esper powers to help them escape from the Tower in which they fought, and despite the fear that she would disappear, Terra remained alive as a human due to her love of the orphans.
Unfortunately for her, Terra wasn't allowed to stay and continue to help raise the children. She was pulled from her world and into another, one that revived the Esper part of her genetic make up. With another Slave Crown placed upon her head, one might say her life came to a complete circle for she was once again in the hands of someone attempting to use her powers for their own personal gain.
*Likes:
» fluffing moogles » her free will » people who love her for who she is » not being used » the orphans she took care of » her friends, like locke » peace
*Dislikes:
» what she's been made to do in the past » being used » having no control over her own body » losing her parents because of the empire » unnecessary violence » the late emperor
*Fears:
» losing her memory again » losing the people she cares about » hurting people again without knowing it
* As stated before, these things are denied her until the slave crown is removed.
