History: Lighting's parents had died, the death was an unknown sickness. They died when she was fifteen. And unfortunately they had no other family to get help from. So now, since there was no one to help her out. She had to raise her younger sister Serah alone. Lighting thought that the only way to get over there parents death. She discarded her childhood, and became an adult as fast as she possibly could. She also changed her name, so in stead of going by the first name Claire. To lighting. Some call her Lite. While she was raising Serah, she acted a motherly figure to her sister.
Lighting decided to join the guardian corps Bodhum Security Regiment under Lieutenant Amodar, where she attained the rank of sergeant. With the small amount of time, she stays with her sister, as long as possible. Lightning has always held a disdain for the Bodhum group NORA, even when they rescued her from an aquatic ambush - particularly their leader. Her sister started dating Snow Villiers, who of course is the leader of "NORA" Lighting doesn't care for him, which makes Serah very sensitive. When lighting turned 21, she began to feel guilty about her small time she had with her sister.
When she spent time with Serah, she gets involved with Snow. Lighting is bitter towards Snow, because Lighting feels all the loneliness. But one day she goes to the mall, and she over heard a conversation with a mother and her son. Ever since she heard the conversation, she was inspired to plan a vacation away from Bodum, for her birthday with Serah. But she noticed two fugitive L'Cie, Oerba Dia Vanille, Oerba Yun Fang. She believes that they had to be from Eden, so she left the mall with her superior officer. But after a few days, she goes back to work and the cavalry are trying to hunt down Vanille. Of course no one knew why they wanted her.
While attending the Bodhum fireworks festival, Lightning learns of a Pulse-related incident being kept under wraps by the Sanctum. Amodar warns her not to investigate, as it would only lead to trouble. On Lightning's birthday, Serah tells Lighting what had happened to her. Lighting knows her fate as a Pulse l'Cie, as well as her engagement to Snow. Lightning refuses to believe either claim, before demanding Snow leaves her home. She is left to open Serah's birthday present by herself: a survival knife. It was then she regretted what she had acted towards Serah.
It is only when the Sanctum announces a Pulse fal'Cie is residing within the Bodhum Vestige in the seaside town. After learning that the Sanctum plans to Purge the entire town, Lightning immediately tries to find Serah. However, she discovers that she is too late, as Snow reveals that Serah is being held captive inside of the Vestige. Without a moment's hesitation, Lightning resigns from her job with the Guardian Corps and boards the Purge train. As she waits in line, she is approached by pilot Sazh Katzroy, who is also a voluntary Purgee. As allies of circumstance, they are forced together so she can rescue her sister before she is taken out of her reach.

RP Sample: Lighting was the kind of person you don't want to deal with. Right now she was hunting Serah down. She was afraid that she wouldn't make it in time. But she pushed herself as much as she could, until she noticed Snow. She narrowed her eyes and wondered what the hell he was doing there. But she noticed a woman by his side, she had seen her before. That was when she remembered, her name was Fang. Lighting decided to go over and see what was going on.
She noticed Snow and Fang turning towards her, standing before them. Lighting looked at both of them, she didn't trust anyone. Which to her was a good thing, because she didn't want to get hurt. She had lost her parents, now her sister. Everything stopped around her. Looking down for a moment, and sighed. But it was then he heard Fang saying she will wake up. That got her attention.
"She can come back?" She asked and both Fang and Snow nodded there heads.
"Thank God" She said softly.
