History:
Growing up, Tifa was a happy child. She was born in Nibelheim to her two loving parents and was their only child. She was lively and quickly gained popularity among her peers. Being so carefree, she didn’t have to worry about anything. The girl was close to her mother as she embodied so much strength and freewill, everything she wanted to be when she was old enough. But that wasn’t to last, when tragedy struck. Her mother passed away suddenly when Tifa was only eight years old, it was such a big blow to her. Being so young, Tifa was confused. She had loved her mother so much and was upset when she was told she wouldn’t be coming back. In her distressed and confused state, the young girl thought somehow that she could see her mother again if she went up Mt.Nibel. Soon afterwards, it began clear that a young boy had followed her, looking out for her safety. She had knew him in their neighbourhood but hardly paid much attention to him before.
But disaster struck when she fell from a bridge, thus becoming injured. Her father was more than furious, especially with her new friend. He blamed him for his daughter getting hurt, even if she pleaded with him that this was not the case. Tifa could only watch as the townsfolk blamed him for the incident, claiming it was his idea. Tifa didn’t believe them, as she did know the truth after all.
When she was still young, her new friend Cloud had decided that he wanted to go join Soldier. At first she was a bit scared for him, but she was hopefully that he would be fine. It would be hard to lose such a kind person whom she trusted, but it was his decision. She made a promise with him that if she was ever in trouble, he would come back and protect her. Watching him leave was difficult although Tifa knew it was going to happen someday.
During the rest of her teen years, she constantly thought about him, wondering what he was up to. Although she was confident she would see him again, she had decided she needed to learn how to defend herself. When she was fifteen, she got herself a job as a tour guide in the Mountains and soon learnt martial arts under the guidance of Zangan, a master in such arts. It became a thing she enjoyed, as it helped her to keep focus. But disaster struck when a bizarre turn of events meant the end of her happy childhood home. A SOLDIER named Sephiroth finally cane to know who his ‘mother’ was and went berserk, starting a fire that would destroy Nibelheim He in turn killed her father at the Mako reactor, which left her devastated. Her hatred for Shrina and Sephiroth grew in that moment, as her fierce determination kicked in.
Tifa tried to attack him, but in the end, ended up even more in danger as he ruthlessly attacked her, leaving her for dead. But luckily she was found just in time and was taken to Midgar to recover. Upon her waking, her hatred of Shrina didn’t fade and she joined AVALANCHE. She still resented ShinRa with a burning passion. When she was old enough, she even set up her own bar which became the base of operations for AVALANCHE.
Tifa meets Cloud again when he becomes a mercenary and immediately noticed something was off about him, letting him work for Barrett till she found out more about him...
She knew there was something up, as the things he remembered were not right. Nether less he got on with his missions. Tifa helped AVALANCHE with their target of trying to blow up a mako reactor, although it was dangerous. Cloud got cut off from the group at that point and later they met Aerith.
They learned of Sephiroth’s plan to gain more power, which caused them to spring into effect. Tifa felt like she had to do something about Shrina once and for all, before something awful happened. But it already did, when Sephiroth’s brutally killed Aerith, Cloud’s friend. Cloud rushed to get revenge and then fought with Sephiroth’s. As a swarm of a devastating meteor attack destroyed Midgar, Cloud was thrust into the Life stream, as Tifa ended up in there too to help him. Suddenly, Cloud started to remember his old self, along with her own help.
In the end, they couldn’t save Midgar but went on to find new hope at a place called Edge. All the old threats were supposedly gone. Desperate to get on with her life, Tifa threw herself into working for her bar, and soon became guardian to an orphan named Denzel and Barrett’s adopted daughter, Marlene. Along with Cloud, she set up a delivery service. Everything was fine up until Cloud left with no real reason. She was upset, not knowing why he was becoming so distant all of a sudden. The threat of Geostigma also had her worried, especially since Denzel and many of the city’s kid have had it.
She kept phoning him and one day she received a call from one of the Turks Reno, explaining that Cloud was needed. One day, when she was due to meet Cloud at the abandoned Church, she came face to face with a ‘remnant’, Loz. She ought with him desperately in order to protect Marlene who was at the scene. She couldn’t stop Loz as he took away the girl, with her falling to the ground, only for Cloud to find her. When she woke, she came to Cloud’s face, realizing that the children were gone. She was worried and urged Cloud to go find them. He managed to do so, only having to come across Kadaj and his ‘brothers’.
There was an attack from Bahamut SIN, which Cloud and the others managed to stop. The kids were soon safe, as Cloud went to fight Kadaj now turned into Sephiroth. Finally he did win and his Geostigma mysteriously vanished. Tifa had an incline on who helped them, which made her smile. Soon at the church, she watched as Cloud helped the other children cure their Geostigma in the water, finally having some peace. Maybe Cloud would be able to move on, now that he had his friends.

The pain that showed itself in his eyes was apparent. There was something bothering him, not that was much of a change from before. She was used to him being so deep in thought from when they where kids. But now, it seemed his mind was troubling him more than before. A small frown etched on her lips as she tried to figure out his thoughts. But unfortunately that was no use, as it was near impossible. He was a closed book when it came to showing any hint of feeling, which made conversing with him difficult. Nether less, he was he friend, a very close one infact, so no matter what was troubling him, she was sure to find out about it sooner or later.
Just the feeling of seeing his bright blue eyes linger up to hers only briefly made her heart skip and sink at the same time. The urge to want him to open more was quickly eating away at her, although he had just stepped in only moments ago. Thinking back to those care-free days of their childhood, nothing was ever complicated. They could just be themselves, without having to think twice about the world around them. It was a time she had fondly remembered, despite her mother’s death deeply upsetting her. But she quickly picked herself up in the presence of someone whom she could trust. No matter what the others thought and said about him, to her, Cloud was her confidante, best friend and one whom she felt comfortable around.
Although, it was difficult to watch him so distant and far away in deep thinking. Her chocolate brown eyes could only watch on as he downed the liquor, anguish set in his eyes. Trying to figure out what was on his mind wasn’t going so well. She kept her hands busy as she pushed back the bottles on the shelves. All she could think about was whether if he was really alright or was something eating away, so bad that he could not speak a word of it to her. She decided to let it slide, hoping to figure this all out later, once they had more time to talk. Her hero looked down as she spoke to him, as he started to say that he wasn’t a hero.
Her gaze shifted to him at that point, as she couldn’t help but feel bad for putting him on the spot. Already he looked uncomfortable, for reasons she was still unsure about. Tifa knew she would have to be patient, to find out what was wrong. All those years away from him had made her believe he was doing a good job. He always wanted to be a soldier, it was his dream. The first time he told her what he wanted to do, she was a bit worried for him. But, she quickly realized that it was his decision and besides, he would come back to help her if she was in trouble.
It was a shame he had not gotten in touch with her these past few years, as she worried about his safety and where he had ended up. Just seeing him alive and well made her happy, the promise he once made stuck in her memory. She really did believe he would be there for her and now he was. And that was good enough for her.
”Is there something wrong?” she questioned lightly as he stopped talking for a moment, attempting to get him to open up. But that was very unlikely. Her smile faded off into a weaker version, as her mind constantly wondered what was going on in her friend’s mind. She had missed so much, all she wanted to do was embrace him, happily talk with him. But in his current distant state, it was better not to upset him further.
”Hmm? Oh I figured there wasn’t much else I could do other than stay here. But I like my job; I wouldn’t change it for the world.” her voice trailed off at the end as she struggled with her own thinking. She had owned this bar for almost a year now and had liked it so far. It wasn’t as exciting as being a soldier but it was fine for her. Of course, she wished she could have done something more important, other than just sit and watch the world break down around her. ”Oh...hmm...my dream? I guess it is...” her voice trailed off yet again, thinking back of the past, once more. ”But then again, these past few years have changed for me, got me thinking more..” she smiled encouragingly, trying not to dwell on asking him questions.
